Guidlines for Treasure Chest Poker (These may change to adapt to individual situations)

Conduct Code

Treasure Chest Poker will attempt to maintain a pleasant environment for all our employees and players. We have established a code of conduct, and may deny play to anyone who violates it. The Following is not permitted:

Any form of cheating.

Verbally or physically threatening any patron or employee.           

Intentionally throwing, tearing, bending or crumpling cards.

Destroying or defacing property.

Decision Making

 

1.  Treasure Chest Poker reserves the right to make decisions in the spirit of fairness, even if a  strict
interpretation of the rules may indicate a different ruling.

2.  Decisions of the supervisor are final.

3.  The proper time to draw attention to an error or irregularity is when it occurs or is first noticed, any
delay, may affect the ruling.

4.  A ruling may be made regarding a pot if it has been requested before the next deal starts. Otherwise the result of the deal must stand.

5.  The same action my have a different meaning, depending on who does it, so the possible intent of an offender will be taken into consideration.

 

 

Poker Etiquette

 

The following actions are improper and grounds for a warning or suspension:

Deliberately splashing chips into the pot

Needlessly stalling the action of the game

Deliberately discarding hands away from the muck. Cards should be released in a low line of flight, at a moderate rate of speed. (Not at the dealers hands or chip rack)

Stacking chips in a manner that interferes with dealing or viewing cards.

Making statements or taking action that could unfairly influence the course of play, whether or not the offender is involved in the pot.

Procedures

 

1.  The management will decide when to start or close any game.

2.  Cash is not permitted on a table at any time

3.  The establishment is not responsible for any storage or removal of chips left on the table during a players absence, even though we will try to protect everyone as best as we can.

4.  All chips and cards must be kept on the table and in plain view at all times. This means above the table- level and not past the edge of the table. The cards should not be covered, by hands, in a manner to completely conceal them.

5.  Only one person my play a hand.

6.  No one can play another players chips.

7.  Any player is entitled to a clear view of an opponent’s chips. Higher denomination chips should be easily visible.

8.  looking through the discard (muck) pile is not allowed.

9.  After a deal ends, dealers are not to show remaining cards.

10.  Non-players are asked to move back from the table.

11.  Speaking in a foreign language, signals are not allowed.

Seating

 

1.  You must be present to be signed in

2.  At starting time for the tournament you will be advised on how many tables there will be and to take a seat.

3. When a game begins, active players will draw for the dealer position, the button will go to the person with the highest card.

  1. Highest cards are reverse alphabetical order. Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs

 

General Poker Rules

 

Misdeals

 

1.The Following circumstances cause a misdeal, provided attention is called to the error before two players have acted on their hands.

A.  Dealer exposed a card.

B.  An incorrect number of cards were dealt.

C.  Any card has been dealt of the proper order.

D.  The first card was dealt to the wrong person.

E.  Cards have been dealt to an empty seat or a player not entitled  to a hand.

F.  A player dealt out of a hand that he should have been dealt in.

Dead Hands

 

 

  1. Your hand is dead if: 

A.  You fold or announce that you are folding when facing a bet or raise.

B.  You throw your hand away in a forward motion, causing another player to act behind you.(even if not facing a bet)

C.  If you play your hand without looking at all your cards, you assume the liability of having an irregular card or an improper joker.
2.  Cards are thrown into another player’s hand are dead, whether they are face up or facedown.

Betting or Raising

 

1.  Check-raising is permitted in all games

2.  In no-limit, unlimited raising is permitted

3.  Any bet must at least be the size of the previous bet or raise in that round, unless a player goes all in.

4.  The smallest bet must equal the size of the big blind, unless a player goes all in.

5.  A verbal statement is binding, if you state a fold check, bet, or raise you are forced to take that action.

6.  Rapping the table with your hand is a check.

7.  Deliberately acting out of turn will not be tolerated.

8.  A player who bets or calls by releasing chips ahead of his down cards is bound by this action.

9.  String bets are not allowed, You should either move the proper amount of the raise at one time onto the table or announce raise and the amount then place it on the table.

10.  All wagers and calls of a improper amount must be brought up to proper size.

The Showdown

 

1.  A player must show both cards face up on the table to win any part of the pot.

2.  Cards speak (Cards read for themselves)

3.  Any player who sees an incorrect amount of chips put into the pot, or an error about to be made in awarding a pot, has an ethical obligation to point out the error.

4.  Any player who has been dealt in may request to see any hand that has been called, even if the opponent’s hand or the winning hand has been mucked.

5.  If you show cards to another player during or after a deal, any player at the table has the right to see those exposed cards.

  1. If there is a side pot, players involved in the side pot should show their hands before anyone who is all-in for the main pot.

 

Rules For Using Blinds

 

  1. Each round, every player must get an opportunity for the button, and meet the total amount of the blind obligations. Either of the following methods of blind placement may be designated to do this

 

A.  Moving Button – The button always moves forward to the next player and the blinds adjust accordingly.

B.  Dead Button – The big blind is posted by the player due for it, the small blind and button are positioned accordingly, even if this means the small blind or the button is placed in front of an empty seat.

1.  In heads up play with two blinds, the small blind is on the button.

2.  A new player cannot be dealt in between the big blind and the button. Blinds cannot be posted between the big blind and the button; you must wait until the button passes.

3.  Big blind has the option to raise prior to the flop.

4.  All blinds must be posted if owed, even if the player is not at their seat. The dealer can put that players blind into play. If after a bet or if the complete blind is not posted (small blind) before that player returns to their seat, the chips posted go to the pot and that players cards are mucked.

5.  Any player who drew for the button is considered active in the game.

Tournaments

 

By participating in any tournament you agree to abide by the rules and behave in a courteous manner. A violator may be verbally warned, suspended from play for a specified length of time, or disqualified from the tournament and any future playing. Chips from a disqualified participant will be removed from play.
1.  Whenever possible, all rules are the same as those that apply to live games.

2.  No seat changes are permitted unless host has moved that player for the purpose of keeping the tables even.

3.  Once a player has been given chips they are required be at the table for at least half the blind level or their chips will be removed.  During this time they are not required to play any hands only post blinds.

4.  The appropriate starting amount of chips will be placed on the table for each entrant at the beginning of the event.

5.  Limits and blinds are raised at intervals necessary for available time to complete event. But are intended to keep game play as long as possible for the time allotted.

6.  Once the blinds are announced raised, the new limits apply on the next deal. A deal begins with the first riffle of the shuffle.

7.  Chips will be removed from the table when the blinds go to, $100 / $200, removing green and yellow chips allowing the players a short break at this time. Again when the blinds go to, $500 / $1000, removing the blue chips allowing the players a short break at this time. Again when the blinds go to, $1000 / $2000 removing the red chips from the table, no break for this chip up. Again when the blinds go to, $5000 / $10000, removing the black chips from the table. Any and all breaks are at the digression of the host adjusted for the time allotted for the event.

8.  An absent player is always dealt a hand, and always post blinds when in that position.

9.  If you are not present when it becomes your turn to act, your hand is dead.

10. As players are eliminated, tables are broken down, with players being assigned to empty seats at other tables.

11. The number at each table will be kept reasonably balanced by the transfer of a player as needed.

12. A player, who declares all in and loses the pot, is eliminated from the tournament if the opponent has sufficient chips to cover the bet.

13. If a player lacks sufficient chips for a blind or a forced bet, the player is entitled to get action on whatever amount of money remains. A player who posts a short blind and wins does not need to make up the blind.

14. A player must leave their seat immediately after being eliminated from an event.

15. Showing cards from a live hand during the action does not constitute as a mucked hand. The hand may still be played even though opponents know your hand. However, if it seems you are deliberately showing to help another player the hand may be mucked at the hosts discretion.

16. Inappropriate behavior like throwing cards that go off the table may be punished with a penalty. A severe infraction such as abusive or disruptive behavior may be punished by eviction from the tournament.

17. The starting position is determined by drawing for high card.

 

18. The dealer button remains in position until the appropriate blinds are posted. Because of this the button may stay in front of the same player for more than one hand.

19. Players are dealt in immediately unless they sit down in the small blind or the button position. In these two cases, they must wait until the button to passes.

20. In heads up play with two blinds, the small blind is on the button

21. All hands will be turned face up whenever a player is all in and betting action is complete.

22. If two (or more) players go broke during the same hand, the player starting the hand with the larger amount of money finishes in the higher tournament place for point and prizes.

23. A tournament event is expected to be played until completion.

24. Management reserves the right to cancel any event, or alter it in a manner fair to the players.
